Automatic Dark / Light theme switching not working

Either using a fixed schedule or location information to toggle between dark and light themes seems broken. There are several reports at LineageOS on this issue, but they don't take kindly to consolidating the issues across individual device reports so I am not clear if there is any traction on it or not :-) The reports there are for OnePlus and Huawei devices, but we have confirmed a Pixel 6, 7 Pro, and 8a have the issue as well. This seems to have crept in recently with 6.9, but clearly it was reported some months earlier at Lineage.
